Roval CL 50 Wheelset
$1,750.00
After designing the CLX 50s, we realized that an affordable, race-worthy carbon wheelset was nowhere to be found, until the CL 50 was developed, that is. We paired our quiver-killing CLX 50 rim with DT Swiss Competition round spokes, our Aero Flange hubs with DT Swiss 350 internals, and steel bearings to deliver you an exceptional wheelset at a more than accessible price. Sharing rims with the CLX 50s, the CL 50s feature many of the benefits as their higher-end siblings. Even though the CL 50 is similar in weight to many wheels in the "lightweight" category, aerodynamics came at the forefront of the development. With this, we jumped headlong into Computational Fluid Dynamics computer modeling to arrive at various rim shapes that could make the CL 50 as fast and light as possible. It took a while, but we narrowed the rim shape down to three contenders that were then CNC machined into rims, built into wheels, and put into the Win Tunnel. In the tunnel, we tested every wheel, ours and the competition's, with a 24C tire (measuring 26C), as tires can drastically affect testing. We chose a modern-width tire to design our rims around, because they not only allow for less tire pressure (which results in more comfort and less rolling resistance) but are also just as aerodynamically efficient when paired with the correct rim width. Now it was time for final testing validation. The result? A 50mm-deep, 1465-gram clincher wheelset that's race-ready and wallet-friendly. - Assembly Method: Hand-built - Brake Track Height: 12mm - Braking Surface: Carbon Fiber - Extras: Roval steel quick-releases, Roval tubeless plugs and valves, SwissStop Black Prince brake pads - Front Hub: Roval AF1, sealed cartridge bearings - Front Spoke Pattern: Radial - Nipple Type: DT Swiss Pro LockBrass hexagonal - Rear Hub: Roval AF1, sealed cartridge bearings, DT Swiss 350 internals, 11-speed - Rear Spoke Pattern: Radial/Two-cross (2:1) - Rim Depth: 50mm - Rim Material: Carbon - Rim Type: Carbon clincher, 2Bliss Ready - Rim Width: 20.7mm internal, 29.4mm external - Spoke Count: 16 front, 21 rear - Spoke Type: DT Swiss Competition Race T-head
Roval CLX 50 Rear Wheel
$1,400.00
First came our CLX 64. Then the 32s. And after racking up multiple wins in Grand Tours, Worlds, and everything in between, we knew that our best bet was to take the line to new heights, or well, new depths. We needed to design one wheel that was a true quiver killer. One wheel that had all the aerodynamic benefits of the 64 in a package that climbed like the 32, and that's where the all-new CLX 50 comes in. When we set out to create the CLX 50, we had clear goals in mind, create wheels that are 48 to 54mm deep, aerodynamically optimized, ultra-wide, and under 1400 grams. This meant that they'd have to borrow some weight savings techniques that we developed for the CLX 32, while taking some aero guidance from the CLX 64, if we were going to create what we like to call ""the unicorn wheel."" Even though the CLX 50 is similar in weight to many wheels in the ""lightweight"" category, aerodynamics came at the forefront of the development. With this, we jumped headlong into Computational Fluid Dynamics computer modeling to arrive at various rim shapes that could make the CLX 50 as fast and light as possible. After finding the optimized rim shape that supported our svelte weight requirements, we opted to lace the rims, via 21 DT Swiss Aerolite spokes, to our Aero Flange (AF) hub with the legendary CeramicSpeed bearings and DT 240 hub internals. And when it was time for final testing validation, we were left with a 50mm-deep, 770-gram clincher wheelset that's not only 200 grams lighter than the competition's similar depth wheel, but is also measurably faster in every conceivable test than each wheel in its category. - Assembly Method: Hand-built - Brake Track Height: 12mm - Braking Surface: Carbon Fiber - Extras: Roval padded wheelbag, Roval steel quick-release, Roval tubeless plugs and tubeless valve, SwissStop Black Prince brake pads - Nipple Type: DT Swiss Pro Lock hexagonal - Rear Hub: Roval AF1, CeramicSpeed bearings, DT Swiss 240 internals, 11-speed - Rim Depth: 50mm - Rim Material: Carbon - Rim Type: Carbon clincher, 2Bliss Ready - Rim Width: 20.7mm internal, 29.4mm external - Spoke Count: 21 - Spoke Pattern: Radial/Two-cross (2:1) - Spoke Type: DT Swiss Aerolite T-head - Weight: 770g

Roval CLX 32 Front
$1,099.95 $1,100.00 On Sale
When we set out to create a lightweight wheelset, we didn't want it to be "just another climbing wheel." We wanted to provide the lightest wheelset out there with the aerodynamic attributes of something twice its depth. One wheel that'll get you to the base of a climb quickly and up it as efficiently as possible, yet still be strong enough for day-to-day abuse. It was a tall order, but in the end, the CLX 32 gave us more than what we asked for. Our design process started with a low overall weight at the forefront, as we knew what weight we could hit with the information and technology we had available. With that weight in mind, we then turned our focus to aerodynamics and began an iterative process of designing and testing over 150 individual rims to find the optimal shape. These innumerable Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) models, Win Tunnel hours, and shots of espresso left us with a 32mm-deep shape that boasts more logged wind tunnel time than any other wheel in its category. Once we found the most aerodynamic shape, at the 32-millimter depth, we came back to the weight focus and proceeded to experiment with over 40 different layup methods to reach our desired weight. And this made the CLX 32 lighter and faster than every other competitor in the lightweight wheel category. For the CLX 32 clincher front, we mated the rim to our Aero Flange (AF) series hub with DT Swiss Aero spokes in order to create the best overall wheel system. This resulted in a 553-gram, 21mm-wide (internal width) front wheel with an extremely low inertia value. In cycling, inertia relates to the amount of force it takes to accelerate or decelerate, so wheels that are built with lightweight rims, like the CLX 32, result in a lower inertia value that creates a lively wheel that allows you to accelerate, decelerate, and change direction with less effort. But why so wide? Well, additional width does three primary things for a rim, it provides additional structural strength, it allows for a clean rim and tire interface when using wide tires (resulting in enhanced aerodynamics and faster rolling properties), and it better supports the tire in hard cornering. This boosts both predictable grip and confidence when things get twisty on the descents. Each CLX 32 clincher front wheel also employs the legendary CeramicSpeed bearings and comes with our padded wheelbag, quick-release, tubeless plugs, tubeless valve, and SwissStop Black Prince brake pads. - Assembly Method: Hand-built - Brake Track Height: 12mm - Braking Surface: Carbon fiber - Extras: Roval padded wheelbag, Roval steel quick-release, Roval tubeless plugs and tubeless valve, SwissStop Black Prince brake pads - Front Hub: Roval AF1, CeramicSpeed bearings - Nipple Type: DT Swiss Pro Lock hexagonal - Rim Depth: 32mm - Rim Material: Carbon - Rim Type: Carbon clincher, 2Bliss Ready - Rim Width: 20.7mm internal - Spoke Count: 16 - Spoke Pattern: Radial - Spoke Type: DT Swiss Aerolite T-head - Weight: 550g

ENVE SES 5.6 Disc Clincher ENVE Alloy Hub Wheelset
$2,550.00
What It Is The ultimate disc brake-specific, aerodynamic, lightweight road race wheelset. Who It's For The SES 5.6 Disc is optimized aerodynamically and structurally for disc use. Road cyclists and triathletes on disc brake bikes will benefit from the SES 5.6 Disc's reduced drag, lightweight design, and rim shape optimized for larger-volume road tires. Why We Made It Most "disc brake" wheelsets are simply repurposed rim brake wheels with disc hubs. The elimination of a braking surface opens up the realm of aerodynamic and structural possibilities. When you don't have to engineer a flat braking surface and manage high temperatures from braking, you can reduce the rim's weight, adjust shape for improved aerodynamics and provide better tubeless performance. Full Details Disc brake technology offers improved braking performance for amateur and professional road cyclists alike. Carbon fiber braking surfaces are a major design constraint that limits weight savings and rim design. By removing the constraints of a braking surface, we can completely rethink the shape of the rim. The SES 5.6 Disc features patented SES rim curvature, but has been further optimized for disc brakes. Additionally, the SES 5.6 Disc carbon fiber clinchers and tubulars are very lightweight, because the material used for rim brake heat management has been eliminated. This allows for a more structurally efficient and impact-resistant rim. Finally, the SES 5.6 Disc carbon clincher is road tubeless-compatible and can still be run with standard inner tubes and tires. Like the current generation SES carbon clinchers and tubulars, the 5.6 Disc has been aerodynamically optimized around 25mm tires.
ENVE SES 7.8 Clincher ENVE Alloy Hub Wheelset
$2,550.00
What It Is The fastest carbon fiber Smart ENVE System aero wheel yet. Who It's For Experienced triathletes and road racers seeking maximum aero performance and stability. Why We Made It We made the SES 7.8 to achieve two things: more speed and more stability. The SES 7.8 embodies the latest SES technologies and includes our newest molded-in brake track and tubeless clincher tire compatibility. The SES 7.8 is wider and specifically optimized to perform best when used with a modern aero frame and large, 25mm tires. Full Details When the race is against the wind and the clock the SES 7.8 is optimized for the task. By reducing the trade-offs between aerodynamics, stability, weight, and stiffness, the SES 7.8 carbon fiber aero wheel is the perfect tool for road racing and triathlon alike. The SES 7.8 features front- and rear-specific rim geometries. The front rim is 71mm deep and 29mm wide, while the rear rims is 80mm deep and 27.5mm wide. The dissimilar rim geometries improve the efficiency of the airflow in the system of bike frame and wheels. Because running 25mm tires is now standard, the SES 7.8 was designed with larger tires in mind. Additionally, frame manufacturers are now producing frames that have more clearance between wheel and frame which has opened up the design scope for a wheelset. The SES 7.8 is optimized for these frames. In addition to changes in shape and structure, the SES 7.8 features the latest molded-in carbon fiber brake track texture and is compatible with road tubeless tires.
